Paledi Segapo, Founder and Creative Director of fashion power house Palse, presented the label’s new collection “I am an African” at South African Fashion Week. The colourful collection was inspired by the 1996 speech of former South African President, Thabo Mbeki.
Guest list for the show included actress Nomzamo Mbatha and fashion icon Uyanda Mbuli. Palse ambassador and multi-award winning artist Donald also made a special appearance on the runway and added to the buzz around the show. The collection was a celebration of colours and prints presenting unique luxe pieces, elegant but super fun at the same time. colours included bright red, striking yellow, gold and green. The eclectic show included music that blended perfectly with the clothes, maintaining the African theme in a very uplifting and beautiful way. Asymmetric pieces such as hoodies and blazers, oversized scarves in a fun mix of sporty looks and nontraditional tailoring.
Last month, Segapo was honoured at Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria MAN Awards receiving the night’s highest honour the “Special Fashion Achievement Award”, for his contribution in shaping Africa’s fashion industry. the fashion creative is also due to showcase his new winter collection this year at the Windhoek and the Swahili (Tanzania) Fashion Weeks.
