Italian brand Pal Zileri presented their FW 19/20 collection at Milan Fashion Week. Creative Director, Rocco Iannone created his idea of modern romanticism: a virtuous tension upon which he built the third chapter of his ongoing tale for Pal Zileri.
‘This season I have woven a net of references that merges sense and sensibility, baroque opulence and severity, the vernacular and new wave, suggesting that only in the balance between such opposites humanism, as a means of progress, is to be found. From fairy tales, I have taken the kindness of the animal metaphor that convey the frankness of the human message‘ explains Iannone.
The male-female dualism becomes a dialogue between couture and tailoring – different ways of interpreting the sartorial art. “The thread that sutures everything is that of instinct, or emotion, which pushes me towards classic and harmonious beauty”.
The collection is a merge between thoughtful silhouettes and silky fabrications -unexpected motifs create a surreal fantasy in the form of prints, textures and fabrics in vibrant hues. Silks and brocades are mixed with wools while the designs are accentuated by accessories.
