Michaela Frankova returned to London Fashion Week with her Spring Summer 2018 collection, presented by Fashion Scout.
Frankova’s SS18 collection gave a modern edge to the timeless elegance of golden era Hollywood. Embodied by the likes of Greta Garbo and Lauren Bacall, by elevating simple silhouettes through the use of a rich pallet of textures, blending luxurious silks, her signature laces, delicate hand embroidery and feathers with scuba jersey as well as contemporary prints by the surrealist T-Mo Bauer .
Michaela’s background in bespoke luxury evening wear is evident in the attention to detail, hand finishes and quality of materials in the lace motorcycle and bomber jackets (with and without marabou sleeves) as well as hand beaded, bodiced ballgowns (replete with detachable train). A graduate of the London College of Fashion and now a London based designer, Frankova brings the luxury of handcrafted artistry to high end ready to wear.
The separates in this luxury collection include cocktail dresses in iridescent prints, cigarette trousers with embroidered seams, printed wraps and blouses invite easy mixing and matching allowing the wearer to choose to dress up or down.
T-Mo Bauer the eccentric London based surrealist created prints exclusively for Michaela Frankova under their ongoing “T-Mo4MF” collaboration which will also provide designs for Frankova’s expansion into home textiles.
White dominated the collection with heavy in metallic in hot pink or blue. Tassels, bell sleeves and an embellished mask all added the eccentric touches to the historic style collection.
