LOVECHILD 1979 AW22 – LET THERE BE LOVE

This season, Copenhagen-based label LOVECHILD 1979 presents a romantic & optimistic Autumn Winter 2022 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

The collection was inspired by the atmosphere of forgotten times resurfacing representing a reflective and longing state of mind. The long days we spent at home has led creative director Anne-Dorthe Larsen to revel in memories of good times spent with people we love as we are ready to once again step out and rejoice in their company. The pieces are a tribute to the small, yet luxurious moments we’re longing to share with each other as now we can slowly begin to dream of afternoons spent getting ready alone for evenings spent getting together again. For new memories to create, finally, in the company of people.

With references to late nights in the company of others – loved ones or even strangers – from live jazz and gallery openings to oysters and sparkling champagne, the collection is alluring in its rich colours and soft yet strong textures.

Slightly more ‘grown-up’ and sophisticated this season the pieces are a mix of the signature romantic and feminine silhouettes presenting relaxed blouses tied at the neck or bra tops that can be worn on their own or over a shirt, accompanied by more masculine, tailored elements than usual – once again giving their own interpretation to traditional tailoring.

The colour palette is both delicate and mature; Ivory, Paper, Oyster, Berry, Tobacco and Black Coffee. With an atmosphere of bubbling excitement under a sophisticated surface, the Autumn Winter 2022 collection is a celebration of a golden age calmly re-emerging with a new and reflective point of view. Let there be love.
