Chinese Paris – based designer, Liu Chao, unveiled his new AW19 collection at Paris Fashion Week.
This season, the designer presents a “ready to wear with the haute couture spirit” wardrobe collection, a daily wear couture, contemporary and uninhibited. His new collection disclosed “Esprit Couture” with 35 revisited creations.
Liu Chao studied art history at La Sorbonne and fashion design at Studio Berçot, graduated in 2011, and mastered a training at the Maison Lesage in Haute Couture embroideries. He also worked for Hermès and Céline for four years.
In this collection Chao was trying to combine the business women from the 80’s, Peter Burns’s neutrality dress code and the French haute couture spirit together through the use of velvet as key material. The Liu Chao woman is independent, strong, with self-confidence and fashion orientation. She wants a wardrobe that allows her to go to work and continue to her evening plans. All the accessories used on the catwalk can be found on Paris flea markets.
This season the designer also collaborated with the Bamboo Art, a brand dedicated to promote the integration between art and other industries. “It is a real honour for me to collaborate with Bamboo Art who contains the most amazing Chineseheritage art work, which is a huge inspiration for my work”. – Liu Chao
