Pam Hogg always makes her shows unforgettable. “Diamond Dogs and Daemons” was no different. With the 80’s idol Nick Cave on the front row at Freemasons Hall it was surely a glamorous event as well. The collection itself was a twisted fairy tale of childhood tales with a new interpretation – think Brother’s Grimm meets glam-rock.
One of the stand out looks was the show’s leading lady Alice Dellal dominating the catwalk in a Pocahontas and thumbalina inspired look with an extravagant floral head piece.
Red Riding Hood opening the show in a dramatic hooded cloak over a frilled cropped blouse and hotpants. Black crown headpieces added a further nativist touch to hard-hitting PVC and barely-there silver-embellished bodysuits. On trend, the 70s were strongly present as the models staggered out on sky-high platforms adorned in fringed suede and flares.

The idea of a twisted dress-up where different stories merge and characters are taken from one world into the next was prevalent – omnious priestesses and Lolita-esque flower girls mixed with Indians and evil step-mothers. Hogg successfully made childhood tales half-remembered a new glam-rock narrative in itself.
fabulously unpredictable – You never know what to expect from a Pam Hogg collection, which in itself creates a certain buzz that’s both incredibly rare and addictive, and that’s without the addition of the iconic lady herself, Pam is without a doubt everyone’s favourite high-fashion rebel! It goes without saying that a Pam Hogg catwalk show will be one to remember, and her autumn/ winter 2015 show most definitely was.
The standout style:
A very sassy Red Riding Hood opening the show in a very cute lipstick-red two-piece consisting of short-shorts and crop top with an oversized hat and flowing cape behind. Little Red was followed by punk-pirates, the sound of the seventies was heard with ziggy stardust inspired, flared two-pieces and queen of cool Alice Dellal taking to the catwalk in a Pocahontas, barely there suede combination and thumbalina inspired look with an extravagant floral head piece.
The accessory to covet:
Eye-patches and head-pieces were the ultimate accessory in this collection, in particular outlandish PVC crowns and of course Alice Dellal’s floral masterpiece.
Who should wear it?
Pam Hogg’s 2015 autumn/ winter collection pays homage to her punk-rock roots, not so much in the style but in spirit. As well as punk’s modern day equivalents, the fun lack of boundaries to Pam’s designs would look perfect on a much more varied selection of personal styles. We can imagine Lady Gaga, of course, dressing one of her many alter ego’s from this collection…perhaps even creating a new one? We can also imagine Miley Cyrus and the cool kids on the block such as Daisy Lowe, Lady Mary Charteris and the show’s leading lady Alice Dellal hitting the town in one of these numbers come this time next year!
