Holzweiler SS18 – textile euphoria

“In our search for the future and what lies ahead, we wanted to pay our tribute and let us inspire by previous generations. A time with strong traditional values and sustainability in terms of taking care of your belongings and garments. Together we want to rebuild old traditions and look to our grandparents as sources of inspiration. With this collection, we love the idea of seeing our grandchildren wearing a vintage Holzweiler”

– Maria Skappel Holzweiler, Head of Design

Norwegian brand Holzweiler, founded by siblings duo Susanne and Andreas Holzeweiler, drew inspiration to their SS18 collection  from Norwegian textile artist Sissel Blystad. The collection was a tribute to previous generations and standing the test of time.

With a minimalist styling the ready to wear collection was presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week featuring geometric prints and plaids in playful colours and textures teamed with sandals, leather shoulder bags and belts with the title ‘Love Me Not’.

Garments included swimwear, light gowns and one-shoulder dresses and details such as tassels, patches and prints. stand out pieces were an oversized ruffle cotton dress worn by american model Erin Wasson and a yellow ombre mohair cable knit jumper with a matching asymmetric skirt.

Color palette was mostly bright with yellow, lavender, blue and red accentuating the fresh, colorful works of the Norwegian artist and contributing to the fun feel of the collection. each garment had its own style encouraging playfulness and experimentation and providing something to suit everyone which seems to become Holzweiler’s trademark.
