American fashion designer, illustrator, and ballet dancer, Hogan McLaughlin presented his AW19 collection at New York fashion Week.
Sporty meets romantic in the Autumn/Winter collection. Silhouettes were feminine marrying the designer’s darkly romantic roots, with a modern, minimalistic sensibility.
Fresh faced models walked down the runway wearing asymmetric cuts, cut-out skirts and voluminous dresses. Standouts were a bright orange cape dress and a hoodie with long exaggerated sleeves. Looks were paired with white Dr. Martens adding a sporty chic vibe. The colour palette ranged from khaki and blush pink to bright tangerine, mustard and amber.
McLaughlin launched his first fashion collection in 2011 and was met with profiles by The New York Times, Vogue, and WWD. Various celebreties soon became patrons of his work, including Lady Gaga, who later commissioned custom pieces for her Born This Way tour.
As an illustrator, McLaughlin has created official promotional images for HBO’s Game of Thrones, Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, and History Channel’s Vikings.
