Independent fashion house GINLEE Studio presented their dreamy SS18 Collection for the first time at Singapore Fashion Week 2017.
The label that was established in 2011 in Israel by Singaporean designer Gin Lee, presented a chic and wearable collection featuring soft flowy pieces heavily influenced by the interconnectedness of cultures. The narrative is A day in my life – which can often be imperfect – but the thought behind it: there is beauty in imperfection – such as crumpled sheets in the morning, greeting the day in unpressed clothes or when the straps of our bag leave imprints on our shirt. These seemingly imperfect crease marks are translated into design details, poking fun of the perfectionist expectations of designers.
The casual and diverse spirit of the city of Tel Aviv is embodied in the mood of the collection and the brand’s signature colour palette of neutrals and pastels – white, soft shades of blue and baby pink. Garments are set to progress from relaxed casual day wear into elegant evening looks, with ultra-feminine silhouettes in sheer fabrics bringing a sense of seduction, while dark tones permeate a sense of mystery. Tote bags are strapped to the models backs, homage to the city’s cyclists, while flowers peek out from conical carriers teamed with sandals and fresh faces creating the perfect low key yet stylish collection.
