Parisian brand French Deal invites us this season to travel and discover a generous and experienced culture sending out a message of tolerance, openness and love.
The SS20 collection, Volume 4, was presented at Paris Fashion Week Men reinventing the traditional loincloth by integrating it into an urban and modern cloakroom. It comes to life on timeless pieces that blend with both African and French cultures.
The brand pays tribute to women presenting raw, intense colours. We see the traditional loincloths dress, the sleeves and torsos of the pieces, alongside guipures from Italy and French leather. These ancestral crafts tell the story of the Baoule people originally from the centre of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), and the dedication of their queen, Abla Pokou.
Steeven Kodjia, artistic director and founder of the fashion house, comes from the Paris suburbs. As a professional dancer, he flew to the United States at the age of 22, creating a bridge between Paris and New York drawing inspiration from hip-hop and the streets of both cities. The brand creates the link between urban spirit, black culture and noble materials.
