Designer FRANZISKA MICHAEL presented her new unisex spring /summer 2018 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.
This season the German designer stays true to the strong influence that is usually at the core of her collections: her inspiration and fascination arising from the 80’s and 70’s. The garments are presents in a delightful mix of prints, patterns and colours with asymmetric forms and a blend between man and women, another ongoing motif in the designer’s collections.

A colourful retro look is combined with modern elements. Garments are mostly oversized, we saw shorts and wide shoulders, and the use of different materials with some really intense and contrasting colours such as striking orange, dark red and mustard yellow -at some occasions mixed together. Garments include blouses, skirts and dresses in asymmetrical shapes and exaggerated cuts. There are shoulder-pads, oversized pants with a wide cut. Materials include Leather, denim and technical substances all mixed in different ways. No matter whether it’s oversized sweaters, denim dungarees or pink jogging pants – the message is the joy of irony with lettering on sweaters such as “front” and “back” it is a clear criticism of the seriousness of our society. However the main focus is on fun and ease especially with the clear theme of the nostalgic and familiar mouse print. Once again the boundaries between men and women are blended and are merging perfectly into a casual, urban and androgenic style creating a striking and memorable collection.
