For her Spring/Summer 2018 Collection designer DOROTHEE SCHUMACHER wrote a love letter to the citizens of the world asking: Has it ever been more important than today to celebrate the coming together of all the different beautiful cultures that one can find in this new collection?
The successful German designer, presented her new collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin to the sound of the incredibly touching deep voice of Asaf Avidan with a front row full of A- listers such as actresses Bettina Zimmermann, model Sara Nuru and Kimberly Emerson, wife of former U.S. Ambassador John B. Emerson.

The designer’s mind set was transformed into her own unique code of style: an unconstrained layering look revolving around nonchalantly wrapped double belts accentuating the feminine waist. This has continued the flirty style Schumacher is well known for. Feminine pieces included floating dresses – mini or maxi – a range of blouses reincarnating boyish shirt shapes turned seductive with an open back detail or off-shoulder style variations. Prints were key: in forms of flowers or striking pinstripe suits with Latin American inspired embellishments. cropped turtlenecks made from tulle and artfully embellished and oversized hoodies with gaucho tapes were teamed with laser cut leather accessories such as beautiful clutches with fringes and low cut ankle boots with snake print. Colours range varies between radiant reds and electrifying corals to pure white and shades of cream, black and midnight blue.
This elegant, sensual yet romantic collection is clearly made for the female wanderer, the modern gentlewoman who embraces the world with all its stunning facets.”I figure if a girl wants to be a legend, she should go ahead and be one!”
