C+plus SERIES presented their AW19 collection “No Boundary” at Shanghai Fashion Week.
Taiwan-born designer C.T.LIU, originally from the film industry, draws inspiration from his experience in the film world creating futuristic designs. Continuing to explore the boundaries of urban street style and interpreting it in different ways with ‘breaking the rules’ attitude.
“I want to impact these boundaries in the collection. I prefer to explore the grey area between styles, where I can find different personalities” The designer explained.
Double layer method is used to create a texture, while the bottom layer is used as a comfortable and soft second skin. On some of the designs the layers create a visual sense of a single layer by reversing the garment backwards.
This season’s knitting is true to the collection’s theme: no boundaries. The designer boldly tried all kinds of impossible stitching methods as well as in styling, using scarves and sweaters combination; sweater and shirt, V-neck and high-neck sweater combinations.
The unconventional deconstruction of fabrics mixed with unique, asymmetric silhouettes created everyday designs with a twist: A glittery puffer coat, a simple tailored white shirt cut out and styled in the most unusual way or a translucent down jackets with high-gloss organza.
The check pattern is still an important element this season while the colour palette is dominated by black, white and grey, and is visually balanced with other saturated colours such as yellow, green, blue and red.
