London based Scottish designer Christopher Kane presented his SS20 collection ‘Ecosexual’ at London Fashion week, dedicating it this season to an all-encompassing idea of recycling, both of his own archive and in terms of the social climate.
Science, sex and nature are as always, the theme – exploring and breaking down taboos around desire.
The collection encourages the wearer to become intimate with nature by indulging in earthly pleasures. During this journey we see once again the signature fashion kinks his fans know and love – in the form of all-over prints on coats, sheer neon lace and eyelet dresses. Looks include a feminine gown held up with straps made from liquid-filled plastic bubbles, and luxuries silk dresses in bright neon bolted with oversized silver studs.
Skinny knits teamed with paisley skirts in classic paisley patterns and styled with knee high cowboy boots. There were space-scape prints, galactic sparkles and Eco Sexual sweatshirts emblazoned with Star Wars typeface.
The environmental theme was showcased by the dominance of green and floral: trench coats, a floral mini-dress with dramatic, high boots and fully accented, botanical-inspired suits.
Once again, Kane delivers a beautiful, feminine collection full of fashion fetishes with a touch of street edge. Timeless pieces such as a black tuxedo jacket or a floor-length lace dress with a plunging neckline appeared alongside chainmail T-shirt dresses sprouting extravagant feather.
“A fetish for people who love air, who love to make love in air, who are naturists, who don’t need clothes, who just want flowers, beauty, nature and wind and magic and spirituality.”- Christopher Kane
