Ceci AW17 – Exploration of a nomads solitude

Apparel and jewelry designer Cecilia Chang founded her brand in New York City 2014.

Known for her loose-fitting and clean silhouette anesthetic, the AW17 collection presented heavy layering in tones of dusty black, ocean blue, grey and warm burgundy that brought a mysterious vibe to the collection. The colours used were meant to represent the exploration of a nomads solitude, a glimpse into her soul.

Oversized and flowing shapes were signature – the collection accentuated a life with no constraints – instead reinforcing our connection with Earth. The use of silk created a fluid feel that was reminiscent of sand dunes and oceans.

Other fabrics featured throughout the collection were denim, wool and blends to creamy velvet and fur, emphasising the unpredictable spirit of nature.
