Luxury fashion brand Burnett New York presented their Fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear At New York Fashion Week.
Taking inspiration from 1980’s film heroines such as Sigourney Weaver in Half Moon Street, and Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface, the collection explores the wardrobe as a means of expression. Daytime looks evoke the mantras of power dressing and the working woman, as seen in sharp tailoring and suiting- while evening takes a decidedly alluring slant- where women use refined glamour to convey strength.
Colour palette was bold, highlighting shades of ivory, black, indigo, bordeaux and emerald. Fabrics range from leather and wool for suiting, to silk crepe, embellished tulle and pleated lame and chiffon for evening.
This season, co-founders Emily Burnett and Sterling McDavid stay true to their mission to empower and inspire all women. Their goal is to not just create beautiful clothes, but to reframe the fashion space by supporting artistry, fostering community, and paying it forward in everything they do.
