French designer Arthur Avellano presented his AW18 collection at Paris Fashion Week men’s.
The designer first attracted attention with his graduation collection ‘The Feast of Trimalchio’ and was awarded the best graduation collection at the Who’s Next Tradeshow. For his second collection, titled ‘le Banquet‘ Avellano draws inspiration from the universe of the classic tragedy of Peter Greenaway’s film “The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover”. Through his garments, he sends us into a dark universe where colour is very important.
Avellano mainly works with latex, and perfects his technique of the material usually banned from the classical cloakroom, seeking to restore its nobility, while reclaiming different classics of clothing.
The young designer began his studies at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Toulouse and furthered his training at Chambre Syndicale, completing his degree, he moved on to further his learning at the Atelier Chardon Savard fashion design and styling school. He created his workshop in 2016 launching his eponymous brand while collaborating with other labels, such as Neith Nyer.
Specialising in leathers, mainly in latex, has become his signature in creating his collections. His collaboration with laboratories has helped him in developing his own unique material – a hybrid latex similar to leather, but different in texture, draping in a unique shine.
