APUJAN AW17 – Knitwear dreams

The London based Taiwanese  womenswear designer, APUJAN , presented another gracefully engaging collection that brings Knitwear dreams to life.

‘From Here to There’ is a visual journey through a collection of doors from this world to the other side of the universe.

Following from his SS17 collection, Apu Jan continues the use of feminine tailoring and legendary innovative knitwear. The elegant silhouettes appear in check, stripes and diamonds, using a variation of layered materials representing the different dimensions leading the audience on a path of exploration. The designs are shaped by traditional oriental figures that are brought to life though three-dimensional visual effects, given depth and texture through the fresh and inventive knitwear craftsmanship.

The pieces are heavily crafted with jacquard, print and embroidery in form of knitwear dresses, long blazers and pantsuits. The colour palette is muted using grey, black, navy, and khaki, with flashes of cream, burgundy and peach to create a classic mix of winter hues highlighting the different textures.

All the designs are ready to come straight into your wardrobe from the catwalk, showcased yet again to the sound of DJ QuestionMark, that has been collaborating with Apu Jan since 2013. This season the music is designed to accompany the audience though a dreamy journey as they experience the rich fantasy world created by Apu Jan.
