This season, designer Anne Vest created yet another playful collection presenting at the Nimb hotel as a part of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
After exploring the usability of fur in her Spring Summer collection, for AW18 it was all about the process of construction, deconstruction and reconstruction and how the different parts are put together in creating the designs. Block colours are used to separate different parts of the garments while backside is used as the outside, to highlight the high quality and add extra coziness inside. After all, this is one of designer’s trademarks, alongside the use of dots, that we will also be wearing for Autumn/Winter.
Vest’s brilliant Coats and jumpers came also in stripes this season, shapes were as always boxy and oversized with exaggerated shoulders, oversized collard cuffs or pockets carefully crafted in the finest quality. Trousers appeared in contrasting seams to highlight the detailing. Some pieces were traditionally decorated with matching turtle necks, this time using the fur around the arms as homage to the vintage skiing outfits.
Colours were constructed on the calm of black, with some bright candy colours to create a sophisticated and strong collection. At the same time the AW18 collection was true to the Anne Vest state of mind – pushing the boundaries of fur in fashion with luxurious designs created for the sophisticated, modern woman.
