Annderstand AW17 – Romance Revolution

Chinese designer Ge Yu’s  brand Annderstand  launched only in 2016 and this season was the brand’s second appearance on the LFW calendar. The brand’s name Annderstand  is based on the word ‘understand’ – the designer aims to understand the modern female through her designs.

The collection presented a perfect mix between classic masculine tailoring, feminine detailing and edgy cutting. The theme was ‘Romance Revolution’ with an intense colour palette of smokey grey, deep black, ivory and navy. Garments had distressed detailing and heavy velvet creating a clean-cut silhouette. A unique leopard print has been created in collaboration with London designer Misa Wu and applied to wool and silk.

The collection was created for a sensual, confident femme fatal whose style is inspired by the 90s ‘London look’.
