Australian-based label Albus Lumen presented Resort 2020 collection “OCTO” – an evolution of rich colour, personality and masculine fluidity.
Creative Director Marina Afonina finds inspiration in the country side of Peru in Cusco. Warmth, Sun and a sense of freedom is felt in every piece, where pistachio, dusty pink and sky blue suiting is a highlight, with masculine and voluminous proportions and hints of camel yellow and deep green. The brands signature travel pieces including, floor length dresses and interchangeable separates quietly node to the 1970’s with the update of subtle collar details and terry fabrications.
The brand continues to strengthen its relationship with milliner Helen Kaminski for Resort 2020, with the introduction of bold and directional raffia hats, highlighting interesting proportions and the inclusion of raffia bags with lose fringe weaving, designed in a colour pallet of bottle green, burgundy and black. Another collaboration is with Australian footwear designers Mara & Mine, offering leather sandals, flats and moccasins with fringe detailing and colour blocking.
Former editor and stylist Marina Afonina launched Albus Lumen – ‘white light’ in Latin – after struggling to find vacation pieces that would work back in real life. The pieces are made for life and travel, cut from natural fabrics in muted colours with an effortless appeal which easily translate from sandy beaches to city streets.
