There are hundreds of answers and interpretations to that question .
”La Protagonista” according to Dora Abodi, the designer behind the label ABODI, is a fusion of many characters, she is partly a David Lynch woman, partly an old Hollywood goddess, partly a Rainer Fassbinder beauty, Sue Ellen from the Dallas, dangerous women of Dynasty, a naive beauty pageant from Ohio or a French nouvelle vague fresh breeze. she can come from the past or present or the future or from another planet.
The ABODI Fall 18/19 collection, presented at Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW), explores these women, mostly characterised as vamps or sexual objects, an archetype of literature and art.
The collection is as usual, quirky, fun and glamorous: exaggerated sleeves, bows, ruffles, asymmetric sleeves and flower applique. Colours were a mix of black and vibrant shades of silver, gold, green and blue. We saw Red velvet and sheer Organza, and see through materials, all paired with pointy, sharp looking boots in shining materials. Proving once again that the ABODI woman is both soft and feminine, but also strong and powerful.
