This season, Indian designer Rocky Star has focused on the ability to look beyond what meets the eye. The AW17 collection ‘Vida’ is about the Sanskrit word for self-discovery, to look within and understand that beauty is what you feel on the inside.

Featuring prints, florals glamorous faux fur and delicate lace with a strong 90’s influence, the collection was very feminine with traces of baroque and gothic feel. Silhouettes were dramatic with a hint of Indian art and Italian romance, the art of embroidery and crafts was used throughout the collection  and creates a signature style. color palette was black, ivory and dusty greys accented with gold and deep burgundies on soft flowing fabrics.

Freemasons Hall with its historical paintings and high ceilings was the perfect setting for this collection. Models wore floral hair clips on their slick hair paired with feathers and dewy, glowing skin.

Completing the looks were velvet waist belts, sequins teamed with cute party bags to create a glamorous collection with a fairy tale feel, that was at the same time, wearable. a blend of old world charm and new age magic.
